There are so many things that can be done in Minecraft, it renders the game nearly infinite, and this YouTuber has been experimenting with some ideas.
There will be people out there reading this who pretty much grew up on Minecraft. While some may still think of it as a video game that’s more suitable for kids, it’s appealing to gamers of all ages. The reason for its continued success is down to it being simplistic in design, yet complex in what it offers fans. It affords the player the opportunity to unleash their creative potential, and sometimes there are ideas which even the game itself probably didn’t account for.
As a YouTuber who specializes in Minecraft content, Fundy is known for creating some interesting and ambitious projects in Mojang’s sandbox title. However, as a change of pace, their latest video shows them messing around with some coding and attempting to see what weird and wonderful things they can implement. One such thing is a bucket which, when used to fetch water, will make the entire lot disappear, whether it’s a pond or an entire river. One part of the video shows that it could even be possible for them to empty a whole ocean’s worth of water.
As well as this, they also experiment with TNT. In this case, when one explodes, it spawns more, which in turn spawn even more in an ever-increasing cavalcade of explosives. With some tweaking to the code, Fundy even manages to create some beautiful circles formed from TNT that’s been detonated. While Minecraft can be a game about enjoying the little things, such as the music or mining for precious minerals, this YouTuber has something of a reputation for engaging in more lofty pursuits.
While this latest video is one that is more about experimentation, Fundy has done some pretty interesting builds in the past. A while ago, they were able to create a gigantic version of Tetris within Minecraft. They’ve also done their own horror-themed Pac-Man game, which the YouTuber briefly alludes to in this recent video. It really does show that there is a lot more that can be created in the game than some may think.
Despite it coming out in 2009, Minecraft is one of the best-selling video games of this year so far, up there with the likes of more contemporary releases, like Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West. It has stood the test of time this past decade or so, and with people like Fundy trying out some interesting ideas, not to mention the slew of incredible structures being built by the fan base, this blocky title is likely to remain at the top for a good while longer.
Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
