Inspired by LEGOs Mario ‘?’ block set, a creative Minecraft fan recreates Minecraft’s crafting table with miniature biomes and a tiny Steve.
A creative Minecraft fan shared photos to Reddit of an impressive crafting table made out of LEGOs complete with small biome dioramas and an adorable tiny Steve. Citing the official Super Mario “?” block set as inspiration for the base design, Reddit user DJ_Hardlogic brought an iconic part of Minecraft to life. Since the original Minecraft release in 2011, fans of the blocky builder game have demonstrated amazing creativity and building skill in-game and out-of-game.
The Minecraft crafting table is one of the earliest pieces of furniture built in every world and remains one of the most important tools players can utilize as they tame the wilderness. Just one crafting table allows players to build hundreds of different items with thousands of possible combinations. Consistent updates since the original release have added more objects players can build, including the recent addition of customizable signs to Minecraft.
Reddit user DJ_Hardlogic’s LEGO build of a crafting table captures small details such as the flat crafting tools on the side of the table and includes a pull-out section with a tiny, adorable Steve made using LEGO bricks. DJ_Hardlogic went beyond the basic crafting table by including tiny dioramas of iconic Minecraft biomes, including a small Ender Dragon lurking in the Nether biome. While the recently overhauled Minecraft desert biome is not included, DJ_Hardlogic captured iconic features of classic biomes, including the lava fall, a suitably blocky wooded hill, and a Warden hiding out in the underground caves section.
With over 2,000 upvotes so far, Minecraft fans have been enjoying DJ_Hardlogic’s creative crafting table interpretation. In the comments, DJ_Hardlogic explained that they are working on a set of instructions so that other Minecraft fans can replicate the crafting table build. When done, the instructions can be accessed on the LEGO fansite Rebrickable. Group builds and sharing of creations is a huge part of the vibrant Minecraft community, including the over 500 players that got together to create a stunningly realistic Minecraft city.
The Minecraft community remains an impressive collection of creative and ingenious gamers constantly finding new ways to express their love for the franchise. Another player recently shared an impressive view of the universe within Minecraft further demonstrating that basic building blocks can lead to works of art. Further updates and changes to the constantly evolving base game will give fans more tools and more options with which to evoke awe and wonder.
Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
